Today we're traveling "Back Down Memory Lane" with Michael Johnson. Michael Johnson made his Olympic debut in 1992, winning the 4x400m relay along with his teammates. At the Atlanta 1996 Games, he became the only man in history to win the 200m and the 400m gold medals at a single Olympics, setting world record times in both events (19.32 in the 200m and 43.49 in the 400m).

The 1968 Olympics in Mexico City was where Robert "Bob" Beamon made what the late Dick Schaap called The Perfect Jump. Beamon set the world record for the long jump with a jump of 8.90 m (29ft. 2 1/2 in.), bettering the existing record by 55 cm (21 3/4 in.).
Beamon's world record would remain for almost 23 years until Mike Powell broke it in 1991.
